Glasses Reglazing UK: Prices, Turnaround and Who Does It
Glasses reglazing UK services let you keep the frames you love and fit new lenses in them. It can cost less than a new pair when your frames are in good shape but your prescription has changed or scratches have spoiled your lenses. Prices are what we saw in October 2026.
Glasses Reglazing UK: What It Is and When It Makes Sense
Reglazing means taking the old lenses out of your frames and fitting new ones. People do it when their prescription changes, when scratches spoil the lenses, or when they want to add a tint, Transitions or a blue light filter. It also suits frames you love or paid a lot for.
It makes less sense if your frames are bent, worn or loose. Specscart and SmartBuyGlasses both say they can turn down frames that are too fragile or unsuitable, so they may turn down a very old pair.

The premium UltraClear coating adds £25, and a prescription with prism adds £20. One full-rim varifocal order with premium varifocals, drive lenses, thin lenses and the premium coating came to £220.
